| | Forward Foreign Exchange Transactions: Buying and Selling of foreign currencies against the Egyptian Pound and other major currencies, at a certain future date and at an agreed price. A forward transaction allows you to eliminate exchange rate risk. AAIB offers forward transactions with maturities of up to 1 year in all major currencies.

| | Currency Swap Transactions: This transaction combines a spot sale with a forward purchase (or vice-versa) at the same time. Accordingly, you can convert one currency to another and then reverse the transaction with no exchange rate risk.

| | Foreign Exchange Options: A contract that provides protection against adverse currency movements, whilst allowing participation gains in favorable currency movements.Unlike a Forward Foreign Exchange contract, options do not oblige the buyer to deliver currency on the settlement date.

MONEY MARKET DESK

| | Time Deposits: AAIB offers deposits that range from 1 week to 1 year, in Egyptian Pounds and other major foreign currencies. Interest rates are fixed until maturity of the deposit. Minimum amount is EGP 10,000 or US$ 3,000 or equivalent (Daily rates are available on request.)

| | Green Pearls: These are Time Deposits denominated in US Dollars, Euros and Sterling pounds.Tenors of deposits are 2 and 3 years. Minimum amount is US$ 5,000 or equivalent in Euros or GBP.Interest rates are fixed and paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually (Daily rates are available on request.)
Treasury Bills : These are short-term debt instruments issued by the CBE (Central Bank of Egypt) on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. T-Bills are issued with maturities of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. This instrument is highly liquid and provides the possibility of using developed secondary markets. Minimum amount: EGP 25,000 (Daily rates are available on request) |
INTEREST RATE DERIVATIVES

| | FRA (Forward Rate Agreements): This product enables clients to hedge against future adverse movements in interest rates for both borrowing and investment. The client and AAIB agree on an interest rate for a specified period of time, and for a specified future settlement date, based on an agreed principal amount.

| | IRS (Interest Rate Swaps): This product also offers clients the opportunity to hedge against interest rate movements, only for a longer period of time, i.e.,a number of years.

| | High Yield Current Accounts: AAIB offers corporate clients high interest rates for large funds kept for an agreed period of time in Current Accounts. Transfers are subject to the bank’s approval.
